Delaware River Report / Conditions August 3, 2018

The release from Cannonsville has been increased slightly to 549 cfs. We had some light rain overnight- just enough to wet the ground down here but also add a little runoff at the Hale Eddy Gauge.  The flows on the rest of the system are dropping a bit this morning.  Right now everything looks fine.  We do have some thunderstorms in the forecast that look like they will hit us.  If Oquaga Creek turns muddy and high chekc above there in Stilesville for clearer water.  We’ll do a mid day update if conditions change.

Small sulphurs, olives, and isonychias will cover most of your dry fly fishing.  If the flows come up with some color try throwing some dark streamers.

Despite the higher flows there are still temperature issues on the lower East Branch, Beaverkill, and Mainstem.   Stick to the West Branch or the upper East Branch for trout.
