Delaware River Report / Conditions July 22, 2016

We dealt with the sun yesterday but the sulphurs came and people were able to find happy fish on the upper West Branch.  Today looks a little different with the potential for decent thunderstorms. This is going to be tough to predict since the forecast seems to change every half hour.  It looks like we have a 50 – 60% chance of somewhere between 1/4″ and 1/2″ in of rain over the course of the day.  Winds will pick up to over 10 mph during the passing storms but that’s a small price to pay to get the cloud cover.  We may see some rain early but the better chance comes later in the afternoon.  Hopefully the rain brings stronger hatches of olives along with the sulphurs and isonychias.  There isn’t a lot of fog on the lower West Branch this morning so the air temps should warm up quicker.  This may bring the trio spinners down earlier than we’ve seen lately.
