Delaware River Report / Conditions July 27, 2018

The runoff is slowly subsiding throughout the system and the rivers are returning to normal flows.  The upper West Branch and upper East Branch are still your best bets for rising fish during the day.  The lower West is clear out front this morning.  We have some cloud cover right now with a chance of rain today.  The rest of the weekend looks dry.  Despite the higher flows there are still temperature issues on the lower East Branch, Beaverkill, and Mainstem.  Stick to the West Branch or the upper East Branch for trout.  Streamers should be a good option while there is fog on the water and while we have cloud cover.  Nymphing should be productive again with the lower flows and clearer water.  Sulphurs, isonychias, and cahills should cover most of your dry fly fishing.
