The weather reports are constantly changing and as of this morning we are only looking at a 20% chance of rain today, cooler air temperatures, and low winds. They have now shifted the strom forecast to tomorrow with a 60% chance of 1″ of rain. I’m sure that prediction will change again this afternoon. The East side of the river system did get hit with some showers last night and there was a slight increase in flow on the upper East Branch, the Beaverkill, and the lower East Branch. The West Branch is pretty much the same as where we started yesterday morning. Water temperatures are still high on the East Branch (stay above Harvard) and on the Mainstem. The entire West Branch is holding on and temperatures are decent.
We are still ssing good hatches of sulphurs (#16-20), cahills (#14), golden drakes (#12-2xl), and olives (#18-26) on the upper West. The fish have been picky so we’ve been using a lot of low floating flies like compara emergers.,
