Delaware River Report / Conditions June 10, 2020

Yesterday felt like mid August.  Bright sun, little wind, and it was hot.  It was a good day to find a shaded bank and watch a riffle for caddis.  People still found fish eating – still mostly caddis with some sulphurs and cahills mixed in.  It will be hot again today but we should see some clouds moving in with the potential for some rain and storms.  Most of the storm should hit over night but the total predicted rainfall of less than 1/2″ shouldn’t change the river flows much.  The clouds will be a welcome sight.  Saturday we cool back down the 70’s during the day.  Today should fish a lot like yesterday.  Your best bet for bugs during the day will be in the coldest water.

Give the lower East Branch, lower Beaverkill, and the Mainstem a break today.  All three of those rivers peaked at or above 70 degrees yesterday and are starting off in the high 60’s already this morning.
