Delaware River Report / Conditions June 15, 2017

The release from Cannonsville has been cut to 272 cfs.  We are coming off a cool night so temperatures look good this morning on most of the system.  The West Branch and Upper East Branch should be fine.  If the forecast is correct we should be cooler today with decent cloud cover.  That should help both the river temperatures and the fishing.   If you plan to fish the lower Beaverkill, lower East Branch, or Mainstem check the afternoon temperatures with a thermometer.  We may see a small thunderstorm in the afternoon which will be a welcome relief.  Precipitation amounts should be less than 1/4″ if it hits us.  The last storms went south of us like normal.  We are finding some Cornutas on the building so definitely keep an eye out for mid morning  through early afternoon hatching.  The weather over the next few days looks perfect for olives.  Swinging caddis pupa and wet flies should produce some fish n the lower water conditions before the hatches.
