Delaware River Report / Conditions September 29, 2021

We had some rain yesterday morning that was probably the 1/4″ Wundeground predicted.  The river flows didn’t budge but we heard there was some olive and Isonychia activity right after the rain.  The sun popped out in the afternoon so it became a streamer / nymphing game.  Once the sun dropped we started seeing olives and caddis with some fish eating on top.  It’s a cool 44 degrees this morning but we should warm up to the low 60’s.  Mostly sunshine with wind 10 – 15 from the North.  The release are still high on both the West and East Branches.  Wading is not advised.  The West Branch also has the Fall tint we always get.  That won’t change until the release is cut back.  The Beaverkill and Wllowemoc offer the best wade opportunities right now.
