Delaware River Report / Conditions September 30, 2021

Yesterday was a good mix of clouds and sunshine.  We did have some afternoon wind that made nymphing and streamers the best bet but it did die down in the evening.  We’re mostly seeing olives with some heptagenias on the West Branch. The other rivers are a mix of olives, heptagenias, some isonychias, some cahills, and even a few white flies.  The wind has made dry fly fishing tough over the last few days.  The West Branch is high and we have that Fall tint in the river.  It’s definitely clear enough for fish to rise.  The East Branch is also high but dropping slowly.  Wading is tough on both of those rivers.  The Beaverkill and Willowemoc are still your best bets for decent wade conditions.  Today will be a mix of sun and clouds with wind 10 – 15 mph from the North.
