Yesterday was mix of clouds and sun for part of the morning giving way to sunshine in the afternoon. There were fish eating caddis and left over spinners in the morning. Mid day fished best with streamers and nymphs. Find a long riffle and really work it to find the fish. In the evening the caddis returned and some sulphurs were hatching. Most of the fish we landed came on caddis and cahill spinners. We are still seeing enough big bugs to fish them but the hatches are definitely transitioning. Today is going to be cooler and we may see some clouds push in during the afternoon. The weekend looks great with rain both Saturday and Sunday. The forecast is calling for less than 1/4″ each day so that will soak right into the ground. The rain and clouds could help the hatches come earlier and last longer offering some better mid day dry fly activity.
