Delaware River Report / Conditions May 31, 2015

The rain fell last night but so far most of the precipitation seems to be going straight into the ground.  We are expecting an additional 1/2″ or so today that should help the system.  The 5:45 am update at the Lordville gauge showed a temperature of 72 degrees.  The Mainstem and lower East Branch are too warm to fish this morning.  The lower West Branch is 66 degrees already so we suggest leaving that alone too.  The Upper West Branch and Upper East Branch are really the only two choices this morning.  The air temps should be lower today which added to the cloud cover and rain should help us out over the next few days.  Coll nights will help tremendously too.
Fishing was tough yesterday in the bright sun and the evening rains hurt the potential spinner falls.  Hopefully the cloud cover and scattered storms push some cornutas today.
We should get additional water released tomorrow under the FFMP but our guess is it will be a negligible amount.
