The West Branch release was raised again yesterday afternoon and is now 699 cfs. Still a decent level for wading and floating. We had a few passing showers but the most of the precipitation has soaked into the ground and the East Branch and Beaverkill dropped slightly overnight. We may see some storms this afternoon but we’re taking a wait and see attitude on the forecasts this season. The cloud cover looks great this morning and there were some fish landed already. If you don’t find fish rising either nymph the drop offs or blind cast an isonychia or cahill in the riffles. It looks like we could see decent olives today so definitely pack those in #18 – 26. Caddis and spinners should round out the patterns for the weekend. We’ve seen some small olive spinners on the water mid day so look closely if you see fish rising but no bugs.
