Delaware River Report / Conditions June 23, 2019

Yesterday fished well despite the early wind.  There was a good mix of sulphurs, cahills, isonychias, caddis, plus a few left over green drakes.  The higher releases of cold water and cool nights have really helped keep the water temps in good shape and the hatches going.  The wind died down in the afternoon and the fishing turned on.  Today looks like another great day to be on the water with the air temp hitting the high 70’s, winds lower at 5 – 10 mph from the North, and a mostly sunny sky.  Look for shaded areas by early afternoon.  If you can stay late have your spinners ready.  The river flows are still dropping.  The upper Beaverkill and Willowemoc are still your best bets for wading.  People are finding a couple of spots on the upper East and lower Beaverkill too.
