We’re coming off a cool night but it’s going to warm up quite a bit today. We’re looking at high 80’s sunshine, and wind 5 – 10 from the West. Concentrate on areas that get early afternoon shade. Caddis can be active on sunny days like this so watch the riffles for egg layers and slashing fish in the riffles. Nymphing drop offs may be a good option until the sun drops behind the hills. It will be dry today but we have a chance of some rain tomorrow and Thursday. Luckily the air temp drops back to the 70’s for the weekend. Yesterday the Mainstem temp ended in the high 60’s and the lower Beaverkill and lower East Branch both hit 69 degrees. The temps on those rivers will likely go over 70 degrees this afternoon so look for colder water.
