It’s going to be cooler today with the air temp reaching 76 degrees. Mostly sunshine with wind 5 – 10 from the south. Yesterday sounded like a mixed bag with some people finding fish early and others not until the sulphurs came as the sun dropped. The dark blue sedges offered some fishing during the day but a lot of them came in the evening too. Blind casting cahills and big charcoal caddis patterns in the riffles could be a good option during the day. Otherwise nymphing during the day with sulphur action in the evening.
The lower East Branch, lower Beaverkill, and Mainstem will be too hot to fish today. The water temps peaked over 70 degrees yesterday. Please give these rivers a break and fish the cold water areas.
