The bright sunny day have fished a lot like Summer days. Nymphing early with good bugs as the sun drops. Yesterday evening was a good mix of Cahills, caddis, and Sulphurs. Plus some river sections are still seeing March Browns, Gray Fox, Green Drakes, and Brown Drakes. Things definitely improved when the wind dropped towards dark. Today will be another sunny one but the air temp will peak at 75 degrees. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the North – so much better than yesterday.
The East Branch at Fishs Eddy and the Beaverkill at Cooks Falls peaked over 70 degrees yesterday. The Mainstem at Lordville came close at 69 degrees. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool back down.
