We have a front pushing in that should bring clouds with an occasional afternoon shower. It should be a good change after a few days of blazing sunshine. The air temp will hit 76 degrees with wind 10 – 20 from the South. If we’re lucky we’ll get some calm periods. If not look for areas that will block the wind for you. Sulphur and Cahill patterns have been very effective along with caddis. Today’s weather could push some olives too. Some river sections are still seeing March Browns, Gray Fox, Green Drakes, and Brown Drakes. Definitely have your spinner patterns for those bugs ready.
The East Branch at Fishs Eddy, the Mainstem at Lordville and the Beaverkill at Cooks Falls peaked around 68 degrees yesterday. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool back down.
