Delaware River Report: July 17, 2022

There was another 100 cfs pulse of cold water on the West Branch overnight. The levels at Hale Eddy are on their way back down this morning and should level out by mid-day. Yesterday’s clouds stuck around a lot longer than usual and provided some good mid-day fishing. We saw sulphurs early and then again later on, as well as a good Pseudo hatch in the afternoon. Make sure you have a few different sulphur patterns with you – they often like seeing some variation. Today will be another warm day, look to the colder water closer to the dam during the day or wait for the sun to drop in the evening.

The East Branch at Fishs Eddy, the Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, and the Mainstem at Lordville all peaked close to 70 degrees yesterday. It’s time to give these sections a break until we get cooler temps.
