Delaware River Report: August 11, 2022

Saturday is the 6th annual Get Trashed in the Catskills river cleanup. If you’re in the are and want to participate stop by the shop at 10 am Saturday morning. If you’re in the area fishing and pick up a few cans stop by and we’ll dispose of them. Every piece of trash picked up helps. have some fun and do some good for the river.

There was a another overnight pulse from Cannonsville that brought the flow up to 690 cfs at Stilesville. The flow has peaked and is already dropping back to normal. Small sulphurs, olives, and cahills are making up the bulk of the bugs on the upper river sections. We have been catching more fish on small olives this past week but there are still sulphurs hatching. The lower West has fished best at low light in the morning and evening with olives and cahills. Today will be sunny with a few clouds, 83 degrees, and wind 10 – 15 mph from the North. There is a slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms.

The East Branch at Fishs Eddy, the Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, and the Mainstem at Lordville all peaked over 70 degrees yesterday. Give these sections a break until we get cooler temps.
