Delaware River Report: August 14, 2022

Thank you to everyone who participated in yesterday’s Get Trashed river cleanup. It was a huge success. We can’t wait for next year’s event!

The release from Cannonsville is steady at 650 cfs for the third day in a row. It’s a great level for floating and wading. Small sulphurs, olives, and cahills are still the main hatches. The olives are small but the fish have been on them. It’s still normal fishing with the best daytime hatching up near the dam in the coldest water. The lower West has been best early and late in the day. Today will be 82 degrees and sunny. We may see a few clouds in the afternoon but mostly count on sunshine. Wind will be light and variable.

The East Branch at Fishs Eddy, the Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, and the Mainstem at Lordville all peaked over 70 degrees yesterday. Give these sections a break until we get cooler temps.

We pulled a lot of metal from the the river this year
