Delaware River Report: August 15, 2022

The release from Cannonsville was increased bringing the Stilesville flow to 919 cfs. It looks level on the graph. That is still an okay level to wade in spots – just use caution in faster water. There may be some vegetation floating by early from the increase but that should flush through relatively quickly. Small sulphurs, small olives, and cahills are still the main hatches. It’s still normal fishing with the best daytime hatching up near the dam in the coldest water. The lower West is still fishing best early and late in the day. Today will be 80 degrees and sunny. There is a slight chance of an brief afternoon shower. Wind will be light and variable.

The East Branch at Fishs Eddy, the Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, and the Mainstem at Lordville all peaked over 70 degrees yesterday. Give these sections a break until we get cooler temps.

The release from Cannonsville was bumped up oernight
