Delaware River Report: August 31, 2022

We finally go the with some storms that added some much needed water to the rivers. The West Branch at Stilesville is a flat 650 cfs and the flow at Hale Eddy is 819 cfs and falling. The West Branch out front has a very faint tint this morning but visibility is not an issue. There are a lot of small blue wing olives on the building this morning. Those will still be the main mayflies hatching. Cahill / stenos, small, sulphurs, Isonychias, yellow sallies, and flying ants need a place in your box today. Today will be much cooler hitting 76 degrees with sun and clouds. Wind will be 10 – 15 mph from the North.

The East Branch at Fishs Eddy and the Beaverkill at Cooks Falls both peaked over 70 degrees yesterday. Give these sections a break until we get cooler temps.

The buildings are covered in olives this morning
Back at 650 cfs.
