Delaware River Report: October 20, 2022

We’re coming off another cold night with some frost on the ground this morning. Water temps are starting off a little lower today than yesterday. Today will be very similar to yesterday with cloud cover, a high of 51 degrees, and wind 10 – 15 mph from the South. Nymphing or swinging wets will likely be the best bet during the day. If you can find a wind protected spot the small olives should be hatching mid afternoon and will shut down as the sun and air temp drop in the evening. Tomorrow we warm back up with some sunshine.

What’s Hatching:
Slate Drake – #14- Isonychia bicolor
Olive Sulphur – #18 – 20 – Heptagenia hebe
Dark Blue Wing Olive – #18 – 20 – deficiens, lata
Tiny Blue Wing Olive – #22 – 26 – Pseudocloeon sp.
Tan Spotted Sedge #16 – 18 – Hydropsyche sp.
