The fishing picked up yesterday with people landing fish on dries and streamers. The West Branch was mostly blue quills with a few hendricksons mixed in. Overall it was a really good day to be on the water. The fish needed that extra day to settle in to the higher flows. Today looks very similar to yesterday. Cannonsville is spilling 2,949 cfs with a release of 674 cfs. Oquaga Creek has dropped to 325 cfs so the feeder streams are falling back to normal. Floating is still the only option. Use your best judgement and extreme caution. Definitely wear a life jacket. The rivers are still high and unsafe for wading. there will be some wade opportunities in the headwater streams.
Today will be 54 degrees with good cloud cover. We may see a few showers totaling .01″ of rainfall. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the North again.
