Delaware River Report: June 22, 2023

The summer solstice gave us a day full of sun and some wind. We saw a mix of bugs including caddis, olives, sulphurs, Isos and spinners. Make sure to carry a variety of patterns with you. Take a close look at the water for subtle rises at the start of the hatch.

The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls and the lower East Branch at Fishs Eddy peaked at or over 70 degrees yesterday. The Mainstem at Lordville peaked at 69 degrees. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool down.

Today will be cooler than yesterday with a chance of showers in the morning. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the East.
