The aqueduct work has been pushed off again. It is now scheduled for Fall of 2024.
Today looks like a good day to be on the water. We have light rain this morning with a chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Total rainfall should be .35″. Good cloud cover and no wind. The change in weather could push the hatches earlier in the day. Sulphurs, olives, cahills, and Isonychias have been making upmost of the bugs for a while now. We are seeing the midday sulphurs on the Upper West Branch. There is some algae in the upper river so if you’re nymphing stick lower.
The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls and Mainstem at Lordville peaked close or over 70 degrees. The East Branch at Fishs Eddy hit 68 degrees. All the rivers are starting off a couple degrees warmer this morning. Give them a break until they cool down again.
Today will be a 78 degrees with rain in the morning and a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Wind will be light and variable.
