The aqueduct work has been pushed off again. It is now scheduled for Fall of 2024.
The rain missed us here on the West Branch so we’re starting off this morning a little lower than yesterday. We’re still in god shape for wading and floating. The Eastern side and the West above the reservoir are both up this morning but are beginning to drop back to normal. Today we’re back to sunshine and warm weather. the best bet for dry fly fishing during the day will be in Deposit with a mix of sulphurs, blue wing olives, and a few Isonychias. The lower West has less algae is the best bet for nymphing. We should see olives, a few cahills, a few sulphurs, and Isonychias when the sun starts to drop.
The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and Mainstem at Lordville will peak over 70 degrees today. It’s time to give these sections a break and fish the colder water.
Today will 85 degrees with sunshine and a few clouds. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the West.
