The aqueduct work has been pushed off again. It is now scheduled for Fall of 2024.
Yesterday was another day of bright sunshine. Today looks the same. So normal July / August conditions. Midday small sulphurs and olives will be in the coldest water sections. There is still a lot of algae in Deposit so it’s not ideal for nymphing. The mid to lower West will be better for nymphing but most of the dry fly shots will come as the sun drops or even into dark. Sulphurs, small olives, and some Isonychias. Swinging wets in riffles could also be a good idea during the sunny part of the day.
The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and Mainstem at Lordville will peak over 70 degrees today. It’s time to give these sections a break and fish the colder water.
Today will be 82 degrees with a few sunshine this morning with a few clouds moving in during the afternoon. Wind will be light and variable.
