Wunderground changed our forecast and rather than the 1/2″ of rain it now looks like we’ll only get .02″. We do have a few clouds this morning and there is still a slight possibility of a storm but it doesn’t seem likely. On the off chance we do get hit the rain should soak into the ground. If we keep the cloud cover it should help the daytime fishing. Nymphing and swinging wets will still be your best bets. Blind casting Isonychias and Cahills could also pay off. In the evening we should see the normal mix of light and tiny olives, cahills, sulphurs, and Isonychias. Throwing caddis pupa in the riffles has payed off too.
Today will be 78 degrees and partly cloudy. Wind will be light and variable. We may have some storms push through but that looks less likely every time we check the weather updates.
The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and Mainstem at Lordville all hit 69 degrees yesterday. The rivers are starting off much warmer this morning than yesterday morning. Please check the water temp with a thermometer before fishing these sections.
