Delaware River Report: June 19, 2024

Last night Cannonsville had an additional 300 cfs pulsed from 10 pm until 6 am this morning. The same as Monday night. This is to keep the water temp from peaking over 75 degrees at Lordville. The West Branch flow will drop back to 500 cfs today. It’s going to be hot again today. The West is at a good level for floating or wading. Nymphing and swinging wets will be the best bests during the day. We are still seeing light olives, tiny olives, and cahills in the late afternoon / evening. Isonychias have been hatching sporadically in the riffles.

Today will be 92 degrees and partly to mostly cloudy. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the South. There is a slight chance of a thunderstorm.

The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and Mainstem at Lordville will all peak over 70 degrees again today. It’s time to give these rivers a break.
