The release from Cannonsville is back to normal at 500 cfs. Yesterday’s storms missed us on the lower West and everything looks good this morning. We’re in the normal Summer program so the midday sulphurs and olives plus a few Isonychias and cahills should be hatching in the coldest water. The mid to lower West is best for nymphs or wets during the day and we should see the hatches as the sun drops. We may see some afternoon thunderstorms but Wunderground is only calling for .15″ so far. They generally slide around us but the clouds and maybe some rain could push the hatches a bit.
Today will be 85 degrees, partly cloudy this morning, and some some possible afternoon thunderstorms. Total rainfall should be .15″ Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the South.
The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, the East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and the Mainstem water temps are all too hot to fish this morning. It’s time to give these rivers a break.
