The West Branch is in good shape this morning with a flow of 721 cfs at Hale Eddy. It’s a great level for both floating and wading. The Midday sulphurs were good yesterday on the upper West. There were some olives in the mix but it was mainly sulphurs. People did pick up fish blind casting Isonychias and cahills towards dark. Nymphing has been good midday on the mid to lower West.
Today will be 85 degrees with sunshine and maybe a few afternoon clouds. Wind will be light and variable.
The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, the East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and the Mainstem water temps will climb too high in today’s sunshine. It’s time to give these rivers a break.
