There was no pulse from Cannonsville last night so we are back to normal with a 500 cfs release. We had some rain yesterday but most of it soaked in the ground and the river looks good this morning. We are still seeing midday sulphurs and tiny olives on the upper West. The mid to lower West Branch had some olives and Isonychias yesterday after the rain. Blind casting Isonychias worked well too. We may see the same thing today if the afternoon thunderstorms hit us. Nymphing or swinging wets will be the best bet early.
Today will be 83 degrees with clouds in the morning and possible scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon. Wind will be light and variable.
The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, the East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and the Mainstem water temps will climb too high in today’s sunshine. It’s time to give these rivers a break.
