The forecast has changed a bit for the better. We’re still in a bit of a heat wave at 81 degrees but at least we should have some cloud cover today. Nymphing will still be the best bet early. If we keep the clouds blind casting Isonychias or cahills in the riffles could be a good option too. Once the sun drops we should see the olives and some Heptagenia. If we do get a rainshower and then the sun pops out for a bit the ants could come in good numbers so definitely have those patterns handy. The air temp cools back down considerably tomorrow.
The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and Mainstem at Lordville all peaked over 70 degrees yesterday. It’s time to give these rivers a break again.
