Delaware River Report: September 4, 2024

The release from Cannonsville is 619 cfs until further notice. The release from Pepacton has also increased and the flow at Downsville is 609 cfs. The releases were increased to drop the reservoir levels before the potential aqueduct work in October. We’re coming off a cold night so river temps are good everywhere and the rivers all look good this morning. The colder water may push some of the fall hatches over the next couple of weeks. Heptagenias, smaller Isonychias, and olives should all be around. The sunshine may push them off until evening but there may be some shots during the day. Nymphing early will still be more productive.

Today will be 76 degrees with sunshine. Wind will be light and variable.
