Delaware River Report: September 16, 2024

Today will look exactly like yesterday. We’re dealing with sunshine so nymphing or swinging wet will be the best bets early. We have found fish eating olives and Isonychias in the sunshine but it’s a bit spotty. Look for sections that get shade earlier in the day. Small olives, hebes, cahills, and Isonychias are making up most of the hatches. We are seeing some caddis. The forecast is changing constantly but it looks like we should have some cloud cover this week.

The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls peaked at 70 degrees yesterday. It’s time to five the river a break until it cools back down.

Today will be 80 degrees with a mix of clouds and sun. Wind will be light and variable.
