Delaware River Report: September 23, 2024

Big change in the weather with clouds, much cooler temps, and even a rain shower. The rain doesn’t look like much and should soak right into the ground. It should help by keeping the bugs on the water longer. We’ve had some minor mid day dry fly action followed by more in the late afternoon. Olives and hebes are making up most of the hatch but there are cahills and Isonychias in the mix.

Today will be 59 degrees with clouds and rain showers. Total rainfall should be .12″. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the South.

What’s Hatching:
Dark Blue Wing Olive – #16 – 18 – Baetis spp.
Slate Drake – #12 – 14 – Isonychia bicolor
Light Cahill – #14 – Stenonema ithaca & canadense
Tiny Blue Wing Olive – #22 – 26 – Pseudocloeon sp.
Tan Caddis -#16 – 18 – Hydropsyche sp.
Olive sulphur – #18 – 20 – Heptagenia hebe
Flying Ant – #16 – 20
