The release from Cannonsville is 600 cfs and the spill has stopped. Yesterday’s rain bumped the flow at Hale Eddy about 100 cfs but it shouldn’t be noticeable and is already dropping. Most of the rain slid north of us. We’ll have a bit more sun today so blind casting Isonychas and Cahills in the riffles or nymphing and swinging wets would be a good start early. The Sulphurs, Cahills, and Isonychias should hatch later in the day in to the evening and dark. Look for banks that get shade earlier in the day.
The Beaverkill, Lower East Branch, and Mainstem water temps are all peaking in the high 60’s to low 70’s. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool back down.
