Delaware River Report: July 17, 2025

Yesterday’s thunderstorms missed us. The West Branch is in good shape for floating and wading. The Upper East is in good shape for wading. Midday Sulphurs and olives are hatching in the coldest river sections along with some Cahills and Isonychias. Blind casing the larger flies on the lower river sections could payoff. Nymphing or swinging wets should work early. The cloud cover will be a bonus this morning. The wind will be up so look for areas that get some protection in the afternoon.

The Beaverkill, Lower East Branch, and Mainstem water temps are all peaked in the mid to high 70’s yesterday. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool back down.

Today will be 87 degrees with clouds and periods of light rain this morning. Total rainfall will be negligible. Wind will be 10 – 20 mph from the South.
