Delaware River Report: July 21, 2025

The thunderstorms slid South of us but we did get the cooler weather. It’s still normal July fishing so go the cold water on the Upper West or Upper East for the best hatching. Sulphurs are still the main hatch but we are seeing some olives and sporadic Isonychias and Cahills. The lower West has been better for nymphing or swinging wets. Blind casting Isonychias or Cahills has also brought some fish to the net. The rest of the week looks clear and we warm back up so that program shouldn’t change.

The Beaverkill, Lower East Branch, and Mainstem water temps are all peaked in the mid to high 70’s yesterday. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool back down.

Today will be 74 degrees with cloudy skies in the morning turning partly cloudy in the afternoon. Wind will be 10 – 15 mph from the North.

It’s that time of year. August 15 – 16. Let’s clean up the river!
