The release from Cannonsville has been dropped back to 549 cfs. Yesterday’s increase was just a pulse to cool the Mainstem at Lordville. We’re back to normal levels and in good shape for wading and floating. It’s going to be hot again today so look for spots with shade in the afternoon. The midday sulphurs and olives should come off in the coldest water. The lower West has been better for nymphing and blind casting with some sulphurs, olives, Cahills, and Isonychias coming off at dark or in the dark. We may see some thunderstorms today so keep an eye on the radar.
The Beaverkill, Lower East Branch, and Mainstem water temps are still peaking in the mid to high 70’s. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool back down.
Today will be 85 degrees and partly cloudy early. We may see some scattered thunderstorms with stronger winds in the afternoon. Total rainfall should be .15″. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the North.
