Delaware River Report: April 1, 2026

It feels like spring has finally arrived! The air temps have been back and forth lately but we’ve been warm for the last few days. We were hit with some strong thunderstorms last night so the river flows are up. Most river flows are still climbing this morning. Wading isn’t an option right now. It looks like both Cannonsville and Pepacton Reservoirs are spilling. Once the rain stops later this week the flows should start to drop. Before last night’s rain there were some stonflies and a few olives on the water. Some people have landed a few fish on dries but it’s mostly been a subsurface bite. There are some alewives coming over Cannonsville.

Today will be 56 degrees, cloudy, with occasional rain showers. We may see an additional 1/2″ of rain overnight. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the North.
