The flows are still dropping back and more sections of river are wadeable each day. The river hotline says the release from Cannonsville is 1498 cfs. There is 4 cfs coming over the spillway. This doesn’t jive with the 1,390 cfs showing at the Stilesville Gauge buts it’s close. We expect the release to be ramped down over the next few days as the spill ends and the hot temperatures give way to milder weather. We are still seeing a decent mix of cahills, sulphurs, and green drakes. A little cloud cover would certainly help the mid day fishing but the sun is good for the caddis. We may have a brief thunderstorm today with a little rain. The precip. should soak into the ground and not make a difference. That should also be the break in the air temperatures and we should see 50’s overnight and mid 70’s tomorrow. If you fish the lower Beaverkill check the temps with a thermometer this afternoon.
