River Reports
Delaware River Report: September 21, 2024
Today will be a couple of degrees cooler than yesterday but otherwise it looks exactly the same. The West Branch has that Fall color we get when the reservoir starts to turn but the bugs and fish don’t care. There is less fog on the lower West than normal but it could still pay off to throw streamers before the sun hits the water. Nymphing or blind casting Isonychias or cahills should be good bets during the day. The hatches should happen mid to late afternoon with mostly olives and hebes mixed with a few Isos and cahills.
Today will be 77 degrees with a mix of sun and clouds. Wind will be light and variable.

Delaware River Report: September 20, 2024
We’re on a cooling trend over the next few days but today will be a lot like yesterday with sun and clouds. The weather has been pretty consistent so the fishing has been the same. streamers in the early morning before the fog burns off could pay off. Once the sun hits the water nymphing will be the best bet. There have been fish eating olives in the sun so keep an eye out early but the majority of the hatching has been in the late afternoon. Olives have been the strongest hatch but there are some hebes, cahills, and Isonychias.
Today will be 79 degrees with a mix of sun and clouds. Wind will be light and variable.

Delaware River Report: September 19, 2024
The rivers will be foggy this morning but it should burn off in the next hour or two. We should be left with some clouds for the rest of the day. Small streamers could be good before the sun hits the water. Once the fog burns off we’ll be back to the normal program of nymphing early with the hatches coming later in the afternoon. Some people are still finding a few fish mid day on small olives. Blind casting cahills and Isonychias in the riffles is always an option. We’re getting later in September but don’t leave the flying ants at home yet.
Today will be 82 degrees and partly cloudy this afternoon. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the North.

Delaware River Report: September 18, 2024
We’re going to start off with some sunshine this morning but the cloud cover should increase this afternoon. The forecast doesn’t show us getting any rain this week but clouds and no wind will be okay. We’ve had some decent fog in the mornings. If you’re up early enough throwing streamers before it burns off could pay off. Nymphing will be a better bet once the fog burns off. The clouds should roll in during the afternoon. The olive hatches have been decent along with a few Isonychias, cahills, and hebes. The intensity of the bugs has varied a bit form river section to river section.
The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls peaked at 68 degrees yesterday.
Today will be 76 degrees with a mix of clouds and sun early with more clouds in the afternoon. Wind will be light and variable.

Delaware River Report: September 17, 2024
We’re in for a third day of the same weather. There will be some clouds around but mostly sunshine during the day. We should have some clouds come in overnight and last for the following couple of days. So it should fish the same today as yesterday with nymphing being the best bet early with small olives, some Isonchias and cahills, and hebes coming in the late afternoon. Some of the olives have been coming earlier and people are finding fish eating in the sunshine so it’s worth checking out before setting up the nymph rig.
The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls peaked at 70 degrees yesterday. It’s time to five the river a break until it cools back down.
Today will be 79 degrees with a mix of clouds and sun. Wind will be light and variable.

Delaware River Report: September 16, 2024
Today will look exactly like yesterday. We’re dealing with sunshine so nymphing or swinging wet will be the best bets early. We have found fish eating olives and Isonychias in the sunshine but it’s a bit spotty. Look for sections that get shade earlier in the day. Small olives, hebes, cahills, and Isonychias are making up most of the hatches. We are seeing some caddis. The forecast is changing constantly but it looks like we should have some cloud cover this week.

Delaware River Report: September 15, 2024
Yesterday afternoon people found success with a mix of nymphing and dry flies despite the sunshine. The hatches weren’t heavy during the day but some people found enough bugs to put fish in the net. The hatches are the same with small olives, Isonychias, some hebes, and a few cahills. Nymphing will still be the best shot early today but it’s worth looking around for sporadic risers first. The main hatch will be later in the afternoon as the sun drops.
Today will be 79 degrees with a mix of clouds and sun. Wind will be light and variable.

Delaware River Report: September 14, 2024
Today is going to be exactly like yesterday. Which was exactly like the day before. We’ll have sunshine, warm temps, and no wind. The rivers are in good shape with the higher releases and cool nights. We have seen some fish eating olives mid day in the sun but the majority of the dry fly fishing has been later in the afternoon. Olives mixed with some hebes and Isonychias have made up the bulk of the hatch. There are still some cahills around and there is always a chance for flying ants. We have some heavy fog on the river this morning but that should burn off in the next hour.
Today will be 82 degrees with mostly sunny skies. Wind will be light and variable.

Today is going to be exactly like yesterday with a few extra clouds. The rivers are in great shape with decent flows and temps. Conditions haven’t changed much so it’s fishing the same. Nymphing or swinging wets will be the best bet during the day. Some people are finding odd midday flushes of olives. Blind casting some riffles could also work. The olives should hatch in the late afternoon along with some hebes, Isonychias, and cahills. The warmer river sections may see some white flies. It’s definitely flying ant weather so have that box handy.

Today will be a little warmer with sunshine so nymphing will be the best bet once the the fog burns off. Blind casting Isonychias in the riffles could also be a good option. Delaware River Report: September 10, 2024
We had a little rain after dark but not enough to bump the flows. All of the rivers are in great shape with decent water temps and flows. We’ll have a bit more sunshine today but the wind will be fine at 5 – 10 mph. So we’ll stick to the same program with nymphing or swinging wets early and dry fly in the afternoon. The olives have started between 3:30 and 4:30 most days with some hebes mixed in. There are some Isonychias and cahills around so blind casting the riffles could work well. We’re on a little warming trend this week so keep the flying ants in your box just in case. If you’re on the Mainstem have a couple white flies with you.
Today will be 72 degrees and partly cloudy. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the North.
