Winter felt a bit more normal and has led us in to a more normal Spring with pretty wide temperature swings. There have been some fish rising on the warmest days but it’s still early so it’s been sporadic. Stoneflies and olives have been the main bugs. The best bets have been nymphs and streamers with any rising fish being a bonus. The release from Stilesville has been bumped to 350 cfs. The flow at Hale Eddy should level out this morning. The fish had a good Winter and look healthy. We warm up a bit towards the end of the week with some potential rain. So far the forecast has us at just over 1/4″ over three days so the rivers will be fine. The last few storms slid around us so we’ll see how it tracks.
Today will be cooler with the air temp hitting 43 degrees and dropping into the high 20’s overnight. Wind will be 10 – 20 mph from the South. Clouds this morning should give way to afternoon sunshine.
