Delaware River Report: April 22, 2024

Yesterday was a little tougher but the people who persevered found some fish on a mix of dries, nymphs, and streamers. Hendricksons, blue quills, and olives are still making up the bulk of the hatch. Today should be better with the sun and warmer air temp. We should see the water temps come up and the wind will be half of yesterday’s. The river flows are down a couple hundred cfs throughout the system. Cannonsville is spilling 449 cfs. The East, West, and Main are still not low enough for wading but we’re heading in the right direction. They’re at great levels for floating. The Beaverkill and Willowemoc are in great shape for wading.

Today will be degrees with partly cloudy skies. We will see some sun. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the North.

Our friend Diane is raising money for one of our favorite events Paint the Delaware Pink — which we host here at the DRC each September. Please consider donating and supporting an amazing program that uses fly fishing as a recovery tool for breast cancer.
