Tomorrow is the 6th Annual Get Trashed in the Catskills River Cleanup. If you’re in the area and want to participate let us know. The cleanup kicks off around 10 am here at the flyshop.
The release from Cannonsville was bumped slightly and the flow at Stilesville is level at 627 cfs this morning. Small sulphurs, olives, and cahills are still making up the bulk of the bugs on the upper river sections. The bugs are there and the fish are on them. At times they can be picky so use more flush floating flies and spinners. The wind was tough at times yesterday afternoon but settled down in the evening. We’re coming off a 50 degree night so it’s a comfortable morning. We’ll be cooler today hitting 76 degrees with abundant sunshine. Wind will be 10 – 15 from the North.
The East Branch at Fishs Eddy, the Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, and the Mainstem at Lordville all peaked over 70 degrees yesterday. Give these sections a break until we get cooler temps.
