The release from Cannonsville is 500 cfs. Yesterday’s rain bumped the river flows slightly but they are pretty much back to where we started yesterday. The West branch is clear and is at a good level for floating and wading. Olives have made up most of the hatches but there are some Isonychias and Cahills around. blind casting casting worked well on the lower West before the hatches. Nymphing or swinging wets in the riffles should produce today too. Streamer would be best early or late before or after the sun hits the water.
The Beaverkill, Lower East Branch, and Mainstem water temps are still peaking in the mid to high 70’s. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool back down.
Today will be 86 degrees and partly cloudy. There is a slight chance of a showerr or stray thunderstorm. Winds from the NW at 5 to 10 mph.
