Delaware River Report: August 16, 2025

The release from Cannonsville is 631 cfs. It looks like we’re dealing with sun again. There have been some small olives in the afternoon but the best dry fly fishing has been in the evening with olives, cahills, and Isonychias. Blind casting the riffles could put some fish in the net midday but nymphing or swinging wets would be better choices. Today is our ninth Get Trashed River Cleanup. If you’re in the area and want to help clean the river we’re meeting here at the fly shop at 10 am.

The Beaverkill, Lower East Branch, and Mainstem water temps are still peaking in the mid to high 70’s. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool back down.

Today will be 86 degrees with and partly cloudy. There is a slight chance of a stray shower in the afternoon. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the South.
