Delaware River Report: August 17, 2026

The release from Cannonsville is 549 cfs. Some river sections fished well in yesterday’s rain with a mix of sulphurs and olives. The West Branch flow only bumped slightly and won’t be noticeable. The Beaverkill is up a couple hundered cfs. The mid day sulphurs are getting a bit spotty as the hatch wanes but there still are some out there. It’s also still the best shot at daytime dry fly action – especially on these sunny days. There are some olives mixed in plus a few Isonychias and Cahills. Stick to the lower West if you want to nymph. The algae has been bad up top making it a dry fly only game.

Today will be 81 degrees with rain and scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the West.
