Delaware River Report: August 18, 2025

The release from Cannonsville is 631 cfs. We have a few days of cooler weather ahead of us which is a welcome relief. The hatches have still been mostly olives with some lingering Sulphurs. We’ve been catching a lot of fish blind casting Isonychias and Cahills in the riffles. We’ll still have sun most days so nymphing or swinging wets would be the best bets midday. Streamers have been good in low light either early in the morning or after the sun drops.

The Beaverkill, Lower East Branch, and Mainstem water temps are still peaking in the mid to high 70’s. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool back down.

Today will be 77 degrees and partly cloudy. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the North.
